Christ and Gospel
Centered
“We preach Christ crucified” (I Corinthians 1:23). We believe in the saving power of God’s glorious gospel (Romans 1:16; 1 Timothy 1:11). We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9) The person and work of Christ are central to all that we do.
Expositional Preaching
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). We endeavor to faithfully teach the whole counsel of God’s Word. Our preaching is expository, verse-by-verse, with an emphasis on the practical application of God’s Word (2 Tim 4:2-3). Our goal is for members themselves to be good students of the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).
Elder-led
We function according to the Biblical model of church government. A servant-minded plurality of elders is given the task of shepherding our congregation - prayerfully seeking God’s will in all matters pertaining to the church.
Missions-minded
LCBC has a rich tradition of faithfully supporting missionary efforts both at home and abroad. We encourage our members to be involved in missionary outreach; personally, prayerfully, and financially.
Servant-minded
Every believer has been given a unique set of spiritual gifts (1 Peter 4:10). God’s purpose is for His saints to be equipped to use their gifts in service to the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12). We encourage our members to use their gifts to the glory of God.
Family-Oriented
We believe that God intends for the church to be a church “family” (1 Peter 1:22). We value our relationships within the body of Christ. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are mindful of Christ’s command to us that we should “love one another” (1 John 4:7-8).
